JMX Add-on and Splunk Add-on for Tomcat: Why am I getting error "Failed to decrypt username password" trying to connect to Tomcat instances?

I have installed Splunk on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 system from the zip package. I installed the JMX and Tomcat Add-Ons. The Tomcat instance I'm trying to connect to is on the same machine. I am able to successfully connect to it from jconsole. No data is getting collected, so I went to the logs to try to determine what was going on. From the jmx.log, I see the following: 2016-04-18 15:03:53,437 - com.splunk.modinput.ModularInput -281160206 [Thread-3] ERROR - Failed to retrieve RMIServer stub: javax.naming.CommunicationException [Root exception is java.rmi.ConnectIOException: Exception creating connection to: server_xyz; nested exception is: java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host] 2016-04-18 15:03:53,437 - com.splunk.modinput.ModularInput -281160206 [Thread-2] ERROR - Exception creating connection to: server_xyz; nested exception is: java.net.NoRouteToHostException: No route to host I then looked at the Splunk log (splunkd.log): 04-18-2016 15:05:35.707 -0400 ERROR ExecProcessor - message from "python /tools/apps/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_tomcat/bin/tomcat.py" raise Exception("Failed to decrypt username password.") 04-18-2016 15:05:35.707 -0400 ERROR ExecProcessor - message from "python /tools/apps/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_tomcat/bin/tomcat.py" Exception: Failed to decrypt username password. I've tried localhost for the hostname as well as 127.0.0.1. None have worked. Any thoughts on why the connection is not working? Thanks.
