Splunk login - field input validation interfering with entering interleaved password

I usually use passwords with two or more strings that are easily remembered, then alternate the characters of them in the field. I.e. I type one of the strings, then go to the beginning of the string and enter the second by alternating each character with a right arrow . I've noticed recently (for me, we're on Splunk 6.2.4) that when I enter the first character of my interleaved password string, the cursor is moved to the end of the string. So now I'm required to enter my string linearly, right to left. Not really a problem and maybe good exercise for my brain - but different and unexpected. While using Splunk I don't notice this input validation effect happening on any other fields. Anyone else notice anything like this in the fields on the login page? thanks
