Splunk App for Unix and Linux: Why does adding hosts to a group in a category cause the browser to hang and result in a CPU spike?

Does anyone know why while trying to add a host to a group causes the browser to hang and the CPU on the Splunk server, Search Head & Indexer, to spike? Running less than 400 servers and no one else is using Splunk. Also for some reason when I first set this up, the hosts section included a LOT of IPs that we are not monitoring or even ours.
